It does not matter which device you use – the MAOCI website and as well the online catalogue scale easily onto the different screen sizes.

Our Easter surprise for you

MAOCI has an Easter surprise for you! Because our new cast iron products will be ready and shipped next week. It is not about one, two or three new items - MAOCI is expanding its cast iron range with an impressive 34 products! This includes new teapots as well as current pieces and new colors. After all, our name says it all – it is modern art of cast iron!

All cast iron MAOCI products are manufactured and colored by hand in a complex process. The forms are made individually from sand and broken after the items have been poured. Therefore each one can only be used just once. There are also no automated processes for grinding and painting.

So our cast iron products are true masterpieces of craftsmanship, they are unique and not alike. If you compare two items that are identical at first glance, you will always find little differences. The articles reflect the skills of the employees who manufacture them. Also the different cultures and tastes become visible. In every work tradition and craft combine to form a harmonious unit.

Our using advice for cast iron

Cast iron is a very long-lasting material. But it is important to pay attention to advice for carrying your MAOCI-teapot with a long and intensive pleasure. All advice is not only applicable for cast iron teapots. Of course, they can be used with all cast iron MAOCI products.

1. Before using it for the first time, you should rinse your cast iron teapot several times with lukewarm water. Only heat the pot when it is at least two-thirds full.
2. A cast iron teapot is suitable for all heat sources except gas cookers. Like all metal objects, it should never be heated in the microwave.
3. The cast iron teapot is sealed inside with enamel. Use this only for acid-free green and black teas. Fruits, rooibos and herbal teas must be acid-free as well.
4. Over time, tea deposits, also called patina, will develop inside the pot. Please rinse the teapot with lukewarm water after each use. If you do not want patina, wipe the inside of the pot with a soft cloth every two to three uses.
5. When cleaning, avoid using cleaning agents or acidic substances such as acetic or citric acid, as they damage cast iron and enamel.
6. If the pourer is stained, for example by grease, you can use a diluted detergent solution. But this should remain the exception. The pourer should not be cleaned in the dishwasher or with sharp sponges or the like.
7. Sooner or later, every cast iron teapot will show small spots of rust. This is in the nature of these jugs and does not harm the jug or your health. If these areas bother you, they can be treated with a slightly oily cloth after rinsing.

Cast iron back in stock

A long time you had to wait, now they are back: Very proudly MAOCI has cast iron items back in stock. Therewith one of Germany´s biggest reseller for tea equipment is returning to its roots. Then did you know, what the name MAOCI stands for? It means modern art of cast iron – and this title became our spirit now once more.

Initially MAOCI offers three teapots of the famous Arare series in three different colours each. You can choose between volumes of 0.7 liters, 0.9 liters or 1.2 liters and classic black, elegant dark green or noble black-golden. Appropriate are the popular Denxi mats with a diameter of 13.5 centimeters in all three colours, a larger diameter of 17 centimeters in black and furthermore our lovely Arare teacups including a fitting mat in black.

The connection between tradition and modernity is one of the outstanding characteristics behind our designs. In co-operation with our porcelain suppliers we have created many designs which are produced exclusively for MAOCI. All our products are painted by hand to give each single MAOCI product a great uniqueness.
